This theater first opened in 1928 as the Lowe's Theater and is believed to be haunted by a number of ghosts. A faceless woman wearing 1940s clothing has been spotted climbing the stairs in the mezzanine lobby, a man in 1930s attire in the balcony area, who has vanished after being approached. The sound of a young child giggling has been heard in the bathroom beyond the Ladies' Parlor, the ghost of a projectionist is said to haunt the projection booth after having a heart attack on the job, and Ferdinand Frisch, an employee who died in the building in 1965 is also said to appear throughout the building.

Gentle arm massage in Balcony 3

10/22/22 I saw Jeff Beck, Johnny Depp and Desure at Louisville Palace Theatre. First, let me say I don't drink so was totally sober. I am an amateur paranormal investigator myself, and had told my sister as we found our seats, "I bet this place is haunted." I was there for a music show, I never actually expected nor was I looking for a paranormal occurrence to happen. Sometime during Jeff Beck's performance, 3 shoes in maybe, I feel someone VERY OBVIOUSLY grab my left arm above the elbow with their entire hand! Of course, I immediately jerk away while turning to see 'WHO GRABBED ME?' No one is there. I turn straight to my sister and tell her. We laugh. A couple songs later, a finger, pressed into but just lightly and ever so gentle, runs up the inside of my arm from my elbow halfway to my underarm (again I feel the tips of the other fingers, I feel a whole hand which feels as real as my own against my skin)! I pulled away agains,, completely startled! Again, NO ONE is there! I now also recall that we suddenly got very cold as if an air conditioner were on. That could be coincidence but, I was most definitely touched by someone I could not see! Cool experience...as long as nobody followed me home. ;)

Had I any equipment with me to get an EVP or Spirit Box communication, I would have rated 5. I rated 4 because, it was a complete and utter surprise but totally friendly, unthreatenig yet obvious and undeniable. I believe the spirit heard me, "This place is probably haunted " and was letting me know that I was correct!
