*If traveling North on Hwy. 119, you will have a couple of choices (A:) take the shortest, but more intimidating route, St. Hwy 199 through Stone to St. Hwy 1056, or (B:) take the longer, "safer" route through Hardy, KY (St. Hwy. 319) to St. Hwy 1056. If you choose (A), you will travel on some narrow roads, some areas that the road is broken off next to the creek, then cross a very curvy mountain road before coming to a stop where you will turn left, travel about 1 mile, then make a right on Big Blue Springs Road. If you choose (B), which is about 15-20 minutes longer than (A), you will take a right onto Hwy. 319, travel until you cross a small mountain, then turn right at the foot of the mountain (Also the site of the infamous Hog Trial of the Hatfields and McCoys). You will then travel roughly 3 miles before making a left on Big Blue Springs Road. (Destination is approximately 20-25 minutes after turning off of Route 119) **If traveling South on Hwy. 119, you will make a left onto right onto Hwy. 319, travel until you cross a small mountain, then turn right at the foot of the mountain (Also the site of the infamous Hog Trial of the Hatfields and McCoys). You will then travel roughly 3 miles before making a left on Big Blue Springs Road. (Destination is approximately 20-25 minutes after turning off of Route 119)

  • Best haunted house I have been to in years

It was really well done, I loved the ending and that you choose which door I wondered if the one I didn’t choose had a different ending. We chose the walking option which I am glad I’m too old to crawl lol plus claustrophobic couldn’t handle the small space. I appreciate that they had most of your classic characters represented and the music sometimes just hearing the music is scary… good effect. Will definitely go back

  • Should clear your calendar and take the family

I would have to say that my son daughter and step daughter had the best family night we've had in years.... The general admission wait can be long. But you can pay $40 for a quick pass. Trust me it is well worth the money. My kids were either pushing me down or I was dragging them. And at times I think I was carrying them. And a special thanks to the lady that helped us out. We live in Clintwood, VA and it was well worth the drive too.

  • Email Verified Best haunt ever, hands down.

I’ve seemed out haunted houses and haunts all over KY and Tenn. and this is by far the best one I have ever been to. They go above and beyond to scare you. There’s always a big line and it takes a while to get in, but it is sooo worth it. There’s actually a slide down into the floor in a crawl space where you have to feel your way through. The actors are beyond creepy and do an amazing job. The only haunted house that I have truly been scared in. I went in 2019 and 2021 and will return in the future.

  • Email Verified Blackberry creek

This haunted house was full of surprises and I loved it. I hated the crawling but it was worth it. Every character there did a awesome job. Would recommend to everyone! We went on opening weekend and it didn’t take long to get in there!

  • Email Verified sooo spoooky times...

This place was sooo spoooky. Be prepared to crawl around in darkness at least for a while. There were tons of scares in each floor, hallways as walk around the school in darkness. Made it through and we were relieved.

  • Engaged throughout

A story is carried forward from start to finish. There were plenty of rooms and hallway in different floors. The scares were planned well ahead and they were interactive. The actors managed to keep us engaged throughout. Loved their makeup and attire. Suited the characters they were playing.

  • Email Verified Totally screaming experience

I was with my family and it was totally screaming experience. This is how Halloween should be. There were numerous horrifying scenes and there were absolutely no breaks between. Too many creepy rooms and hallways that take you to different floors. Some were tight, dark passageways which would be too much for a claustrophobic. They made us bend and crawl.

  • Email Verified Excellent

This is by far the best haunted house I have been to in awhile. The time and effort these people put in to this was amazing! We will definitely go back if they do this again next year! Awesome job everyone! The wait was not bad we only waited about ten minutes and it’s worth every penny!

  • Email Verified Fair effects

Was ok for this area..but be prepared for long wait..we waited 3 1/2 hrs..and be prepared to crawl around in dark small space for at least 15 minutes in a maze..not good if you have a bad back or knees. Other attractions were good.

  • So good we went back!!

The haunted house was AWESOME!!! We only waited about 15 mins each time we went. Our group was large both times we went and we all had a great time! It took about 30-45 mins to go through the entire haunted house. This is a wonderful attraction for our area and I’m so glad the old school is being used. It’s well worth the money!! I hope it becomes a yearly tradition!!!

  • Email Verified Loved our time at hauntophobia...

If you are a haunt freak, then you must definitely make a visit to hauntophobia. We had an awesome time. It was a bit far off and we got there late. The wait was not long either. The school as its background the themes were woven around it. It plays on various fears and senses. Loved each moment.

  • Email Verified Don't waste your time or money

We waited in line for 4 hours but had heard good things and the haunted house boasted a 40 minute run time so even though the long wait was annoying we stuck it out. Once inside there were about 4-5 actual actors inside the haunted house that were apathetic and even rude to our party, including berating one of us for screaming and telling her to "chill out". A security guard followed us through the entire thing because one of our party used a curse word (even though the actors inside frequently cursed at us) We made it through the whole thing in about 10 minutes. In summary- way too expensive for the experience you get, if you don't spring for the speedy pass expect 4+ hours in line where the line doesn't move at all for up to 2 hours at at a time, only a handful of scare actors inside, uninterested staff, weird rules, and a 10 minutes experience. Don't waste your time or money.
