My mom worked here for almost 15 years and I worked here in my teen years. This place was full of many memories, its where history was made its sad you can no longer visit the place. Maybe one day it will reopen there's always hope i guess. We experienced some crazy things while working there, our shoes would be untied alot once we hit the staircase going down to the lobby. We would find pictures sometimes half off the wall slightly adjusted after just fixing 6 mins prior, we had seen a small mist moving figure that would be down in the basement where the old well was and you could see it fly thru, like a big old ball of smoke we would see that occasionally, we would hear a woman weep and moan as if someone was sad or hurt. The old cabin across the the Inn was also very haunted. The fire department had 3 different occasions where they were called about smelling smoke and seeing fire on the top roof of the cabin but when they arrived there was nothing there no smoke no fire. We were told thru old stories of the place that many years ago a fire took place up at the cabin, you could hear little children running and the sound of little feet running along the old wood floors you could hear their laughter... it would make me sad to hear it because it was sad that their lives were taken to soon and you wonder what happened to them and why their still there. Doe run inn will always be a special place, my mom loved working here. She passed away in 2013 and this place was full of her memories from the stories, holiday parties and the time all the lights out one Christmas eve night and there was no explanation for it.

My parents own a property in Brandenburg on the river, which they visit periodically to maintain. On one of these occasions in December of 2006 when I was only 16, they thought it would be cute to stay a night at the inn. We took a large room on the second floor with 3 beds. Being a teenager cold and bored in the middle of nowhere, I complained openly all night about the room. After my parents had fallen asleep, I was unable to do so due to my fathers relentless snoring. I found myself shouting “Shut up!” for a good two hours before dozing off. There was a moment around 3am when my phone, my mom’s, and sisters all died one by one. I could hear the virgin mobile jingle as they shut off. Then maybe 15 minutes after I finally fell asleep, something very angrily and aggressively lunged at my neck causing me to sit up screaming. It still throbbed as I yelled for everyone to wake up. I blame my teenage self for this, but it left me frightened and fascinated.
