  • could be scarier

I first went on this hayride about 4 years ago it was really good. The people in character were all over the place. Hayride was scary, but it's went down hill each year after. This year was the least scary. We lost our tickets when I went to the window to tell the lady what happened she was rude and said she couldn'thelp ..$48.00 with of tickets..she finally have me a nasty look and replaced my tickets..The clown told my son he was gonna rip his guts out while he was sleeping and hang them on his bed post!

  • Not worth the money

We drove an hour and a half to see Sandyland. For the three of us it cost sixty dollars. Overall I think this attraction is average, perhaps slightly below average, not so much for any lack of scare factor but because of poor design of foot traffic and poor marketing of their product. First the good. Sandyland really seems to want to scare you. Most of the characters stay in character. The scenes during the haunted hayride speak of specific scenes in the more popular horror movies. In the haunted barn maze you literally can't see anything. The crowd really surprised me by being well behaved. It was as if the visitors really tried to make this a great experience for everyone. The bad: The girl speaking from a script asking everyone to stop by the giftshop had the most monotone, unenthusiastic voice I have heard in a long time. The wording of the script could have been much better, the selection of trinkets to buy was just awful and had little to do with Halloween. The hayride had some really good moments, and a whole lot of dead air to it. The best parts of the hayride were when characters hopped aboard or chased us on horseback or via truck or ice cream truck. It's just that aside from those short moments of taking your breath away, you're left with a feeling of meh. We did not get a feeling that anyone who rode the wagon was blown away with the experience. The marketing and disclaimers far outweigh the products and its accompanying risks, in our opinion. Sandyland really needs to think about incorporating technology to assist with scares, invest in better lighting and smoke control.

  • Never Go Back

Not sure how this one is but went last year. Myself and four others went it was scarier trying to get there from Indiana then the actual hayride. Froze to death in line four two hours for what seemed like a ten minute ride. The actors were good but some down right rude. One of the clowns actually got to close to my friend and I after telling him to back off several times because he grabbed my hair jokingly and actually pulled some out! The farm is beautiful but we all agreed the drive and the pay is not worth it. I cringe everytime its advertized on the radio. Maybe it was just a bad experience but it was bad enough I wouldn't even go fo free.
